Seniors

Isaac - is in his fourth season and was our team’s co-captain last year. He is still our team lead programmer. He assists the build team, dedicating numerous hours to designing parts and bot construction. Isaac has been a major asset to the pit crew with his efficiency and problem solving skills.

Jacob - is in his fourth season with Team 2847. He has spent time supporting the build, media, and Impact teams, serving as an Impact presenter in 2023. At competitions, he is excited to meet and make connections with other teams.

Ainsley - following in the footsteps of her older siblings (and dad), joined The Megahertz as a freshman. She has worn many hats on our team, assisting in the areas of marketing, building, outreach, presenting our Impact Award entry for the team and producing the Impact video in 2023.

Wylee - Is in his third season for our team. He has been a dedicated build team member and leader in the pit, and has become our lead CAD engineer. He has shown perseverance as he faced and overcame several challenges in his subsystem. Wylee earned all state academic honors in the last two seasons.

Luna - joined Team 2847 this year. She got her feet wet working on our kitbot and has supported our Impact team. She also serves as a scout at our competitions.

Illyana - It is her third season on our team. She has worked with the build and business teams and is a frequent outreach participant. She has become our resident swerve expert and keeps our robot moving! Her enthusiasm and infectious energy is a great bonus for our team.

Emma - is a fourth-year returning member to Team 2847. She has spent her time on the team supporting our marketing, outreach projects, and Impact Award efforts as well as the build team. This season she has taken on a new challenge with the CAD subteam.

Katie - joined us this year. She has been a jack-of-all-trades, helping the build team, fundraising, creating animations, and crafting writing samples for our Impact submission. She’s been a key member of our advocacy team.

Juniors

Gabbie - is a junior and is participating in her second season of FIRST Robotics. She is up for any project has, worked with the build team on the robot, field, kit bot and bumpers and has joined the Impact subteam this year.

Isaac - Is in his third season for Team 2847. Since joining, he has learned all aspects of robot building and scouting at our regional competitions.

Jacob (JK) - followed in the footsteps of his dad and older brother to join the Megahertz team in his freshman year. He has become a valuable field crew member and worked with our build team on their various projects. He has recently joined the CAD subteam.

Colton - is a returning member of the team having joined the MegaHertz in his freshman year. He has shown drive and commitment to the build team and has proved to be an able assistant and a scouter at our competitions.

Christian - is in his second season with Team 2847. He has been an enthusiastic builder, jumping in wherever he is needed. He has also joined the pit crew and served as human player in our first regional competition last year.

Sophomores

Michael - joined The MegaHertz last season after honing his skills on the junior high robotics team. He assists the build team, helps out with outreach, and scouts during competitions. He has also learning more about 3D printing.

Tyler - is another former junior high robotics team member who has become an important part of the build team for The MegaHertz. He serves on the pit crew at competitions, as well.

Elias - joined The MegaHertz in the offseason after he was brought in by one of our seniors. He has become an important part of the media team and plans to help out wherever he can for the team.

Freshmen

Jaxson - was a member of our junior high team and joined the MegaHertz this summer in our off-season. He has been assisting the build team.

Shawn - was also member of our junior high team he joined the MegaHertz during our summer sessions and is lending his skills to the build team.

Mentors

Head Mentor Sam Viesselman is a MegaHertz alumni (FHS 2011 graduate). He served as an assistant mentor in 2017 and has been the head mentor since the 2018 season. He is a software engineer at Kahler Automation in Fairmont.

Assistant Mentor Logan Kahler has been with the team since 2019 and specializes in programming. He is the Chief Software Architect at Kahler Automation in Fairmont.

Assistant Mentor Celia Simpson joined the MegaHertz during the 2022-23 season. She assists with build and business teams. Celia is an alumni of the team (2018 FHS graduate). She works as a Community and Business Development Specialist with CEDA.

Robert Malo joined the team as an assistant mentor during the 2020 season and works with the CAD and build teams. He is a design engineer at Precision Tool, Inc., in New Ulm.

Assistant Mentor Cindy Viesselman joined Team 2847 in 2018. She is a retired educator. She works with fundraising, marketing, social media and logistics for the team.

Bryan Kastning is a new assistant mentor for the team this year. He works with the build team. Bryan is employed at Olson Rentals.

Assistant Mentor Jason Nelson joined the MegaHertz during its 2022 season. He supervises the wiring and other aspects of building the robot. Jason is the Network Administrator for Martin County.

Noah Johnson (missing from photo) is in his third year of mentoring. He works with the programming sub-team. He is employed at Kahler Automation as a software developer.

Chad Moeller (missing from photo) joined the MegaHertz last season. He assists the build team with their many projects. Chad is a local farmer.

Sam Cave (missing from photo) is new to the MegaHertz mentor team. He works with the build team. He is employed at Kahler Automation.
